Spring 2015 Visual Collection

About this collection

Welcome to the Spring 2015 Visual Collection of the Franciscan Monastery of the Holy Land in America. This visual collection offers a selection of images from the Franciscan Monastery of the Holy Land in America, located in the Brookland neighborhood of Washington, DC.  The images presented here range in date from the mid 1920s to the early 1930s. Drawn from the Father Godfrey Schilling collection, these still pictures show Fr. Schilling and a number of other individuals on the grounds of the monastery and traveling throughout the world.

We hope that these images prove useful to scholars studying the history of this Monastery, the Franciscan order, and 20th Century Catholicism in America. All rights, including rights of reproduction, are held exclusively by the Franciscan Monastery. If you wish to seek permissions, please visit their website through out "Additional Resources" tab and contact Librarian/Archivist Dr. Karen Levenback directly.

You can easily navigate the collection through the subject terms below, or through the "browse all" tab.
